What is it
The Lifestyle Management Program at Escorts Heart Institute And Research Center is a multi-disciplinary-program designed to help an individual achieve an ideal lifestyle, tailor-made to his needs, leading to a healthy body and a healthy mind.
The risk factors assessed from blood tests, lipid profile as well as lifestyle factors of stress, diet, physical activity and personal habits are addressed through this program in a holistic manner. Changes in lifestyle is the only long lasting method of prevention, ensuring a healthy body and mind and is recommended for all adults above thirty years.

The program has three components, focusing on physical activity, stress management and diet. Special emphasis is also laid on cardiac health, a silent killer, for which Indians as a community tend to be prone for and the program is especially helpful for people with cardiac problems or those with a family history of the same.

LIFESTYLE TEAM
A multi-disciplinary team comprising the following runs the program:

  • Physiatrist (specialist in rehabilitation medicine)
  • Psychologist
  • Nutritionist

THE PROGRAM
Management is tailored to control individual risk factors as revealed in the screening and assessment process.

  • Attitudinal issues for psycho-social well being

FOLLOW -UP
Individuals are followed up periodically to help attain mutually set goals and to monitor the progress.
