AIR AMBULANCE SERVICE

What is it?
EHIRC has a dedicated team trained in aero - medical transport of critically ill cardiac patients. For evacuation, a fully trained team, comprising of a cardiologist, an anaesthesist, a nurse, a cardiac surgeon (if required), with all the essential life saving equipments like the ventilator, defibrillator, monitor, IABP and so on, is dispatched in a 6 - 8 seater aircraft/ helicopter.

In cases of heart ailments, the earlier the treatment is done, the better are the chances of one's survival. In peripheral cities and hospitals, there is a lack of advanced facilities, due to which there might be a compromise on the chances of a patient's survival, which could be quite fatal.

Thus, EHIRC provides the latest state-of the -art technology with which the air ambulance service is equipped, to bring cardiac patients from remote areas in and around the country.

How is it done?
The moment a request is received at EHIRC's emergency air ambulance service for an air transfer, a senior cardiologist evaluates the patient's condition by getting in touch with the patient's local doctor at the remote center. Taking into consideration the patient's condition and the nature of ailment, a team of a cardiologist, an anaesthesist, a nurse, and a cardiac surgeon (if required) is constituted. The life saving equipment is selected and put on board.

On landing at the destination, the team goes to the peripheral hospital where the patient is, and bring him/ her to the aircraft. Once the patient is on board, he/ she is continuously monitored and given intensive care by on - board specialists until they reach the Delhi airport. Here, the EHIRC ambulance is ready to take the patient to the hospital for treatment.
