In the private sector EHIRC is the only hospital with a specialized multi disciplinary team of Pediatric cardiologists, Pediatric surgeons, anaesthesiologists and Pediatric Intensivists who work only towards child cardiac care. This highly trained team is vastly experienced and has pioneered several cardiac techniques for children. The department has produced results that are comparable to the best in the world.

The department does extensive echocardiographic work on children and is one of the rare centres that feel confident in operating the child based on the echocardiographic report.

Cardiac defects in foetal life (unborn child) are also diagnosed using specialized echocardiography techniques.
Several Invasive Pediatric Interventions are performed routinely:

Dialating obstructive valves- Balloon Valvuloplasty
Dialating narrow blood vessels- Balloon Angioplasty Closing abnormal blood vessels by coil or devices like Patent-ductus Arteriosis, AV Fistula Atrial septal defects- by devices placed percutaneously.
Similarly, stage-surgery of complex heart defects and re-do surgeries are performed, in keeping with the institute's status as a Tertiary Referral Centre in the country.
